Installation covers roofs going on where there isn't one yet, such as a new house, an addition, or a garage or other structure being built on the property. On an addition, the new roof also has to tie into the existing one, and that joint is where leaks start if it isn't flashed properly.

The roof covering is only part of the job. Underlayment, flashing at walls and valleys, drip edge and ventilation all go on with it, and they matter as much as the shingles, metal or tile on top.
