Wind Damage Roof Repair
Wind Damage Roof Repair in Texas
Wind damage usually starts at the edges. Gusts get under shingles along the eaves, rakes and ridge, break the seal that holds them down, and lift or tear them off. Flashing and drip edge can work loose the same way, and on metal roofs the trim and fasteners near the edges take the most strain.
A shingle that lifted and settled back can look fine from the ground but no longer be sealed, which is how a windy day turns into a leak later on.
We replace missing and unsealed shingles, re-secure or replace loose flashing and trim, and cover any exposed decking. Before we start, we check the shingles around the damage. If they're brittle enough to crack when lifted, a repair can cause more damage than it fixes, and we'll tell you that up front.
